I love Judas. I just wish Gaga hadn't taken the obvious gimmick approach. Poker Face was cleaver. Judas was written as a parody, it seems. The instrumentation is miles beyond the lyrics (except the bridge). I wasn't offended by the song obviously, but it is obvious that Gaga was trying to get a rise out of this one. Didn't like that. Had it been clever then I wouldn't have cared.

The production was great, albeit choppy at parts. The instrumental was top notch and had great potential had it not been squandered in an attempt by Gaga to grab some headlines.
But how was it not clever ? She basically spun (even taking some facts and making them her own) biblical facts into a dance pop/tribal house song. I'd like to see the other girls do that
Well I like the metaphors and all, but getting people to chant that they're in love with the man who killed Jesus was an obvious grab at controversy. To make it even worse, the song backfired on her. I love the song though

Ah okay, Yeah I agree. I think the only way she really could have made is successful is if she either based it on Judas and didn't name it Judas or while it was named Judas she didn't have to say she loved him. That way people would be more willing to believe the metaphor.
The BTW video starts and ends great, but in between it's too repetitive and dull. They should have used more visual set ups, or better yet.. expanded the ending (which is visually stunning & imaginative) into an entire video.
