- Unova exclusives are retained to their respective versions.
- Among the Pokemon that are gifted to you are: A Zorua belonging to N, a Deerling with Serene Grace and a Shiny Gible after the E4.
- Among the Pokemon that can be encountered are a Minccino and a Mandibuzz, both with Dream World abilities, Volcarona can also be obtained before beating the game.
- There are many non-Unova legendaries available after beating the game such as; Latios/Latias, Uxie/Mesprit/Azelf, Regirock/Regice/Registeel/Regigigas, Cresselia and Heatran.
Trainers
..
- The only new Gym Leaders in this game are Cheren, Roxie (the poison type rocker) and Shizui (the water type fisher)
- The only Gym Leaders with a new look are Cheren and Elesa, the rest are exactly as they were in the first game.
- The gyms are fought in this order: Cheren > Roxie > Burgh > Elesa > Clay > Skyla > Drayden > Shizui
- The E4 is the same as the last game, except now IRIS is the champion! The level range in this game is in the mid to high 50s.
- N, Ghetsis and Alder (and his grandson) can all still be fought after the end of the game.
- The Game Freak member battle is now a Triple Battle, different Pokemon as well.
World Tournament/Extras
...
- Every single Gym Leader and Champion can be fought at the World Tournament. Yes, even the ones from Hoenn.
- Every region has their own division.
- You have to beat the Unova division to unlock the rest of the regional divisions, defeat those to unlock the world division (which is a mix of all the divisions) and beat THAT to get to the Champion divisions.
- This feature was made as a sort of replacement to the Battle Frontier (there are Rental modes, Lv25 mode, Mix mode, where you can switch a Pokemon with your opponent, etc.)
- There that, when held, increases the chance of you receiving an egg from the Daycare man. A similar item increases the chance of encountering a wild shiny Pokemon.
- When your repel runs out, you are prompted to apply it again without having to go back to the menu.
- There are difficulty setting available after beating the game (Assist Mode and Challenge Mode).
