Google updated their security earlier this year with new SSL protocols and layered it with http
s URLs rather than
http://. Since the current ATRL system was coded prior to this update, the tool to embed YouTube videos doesn't account for this extra character (the s in HTTPS); and since it was programmed to take the last 11 characters of a YouTube URL, it is now recognizing the equal sign as the first character in the ID and leaving out the last character.
If you remove the s from HTTPS:// in the URL, you will notice that embed tool works perfectly. Same as if you were to just use the last 11 characters of the url (the ones after the equal sign).
Hope that makes sense.
Either way, this will be fixed in the upcoming update- so, it won't be a problem for much longer!
