I don't understand why Epic or even Avril can't pay the radio stations to play her songs. Epic would never do it. but Avril should be rich enough to pay for a radio deal herself. Unless there's a rule against it because then every artist would do it.

At least it outpeaked (in the US) Hot, The Best Damn Thing, He Wasn't (only released in UK),
Fall to Pieces (only released in Canada) and... well, that sums it up!

payola is technically illegal. there are ways around it, but flat-out paying for stations to play a song is illegal.
