Wow! Really??? Michael was very talented, but Prince was the musical genius of more than a generation. I would actually argue Michael used to Prince (in a positive way, of course) as inspiration for Faith. Both could play all the instruments on their albums; write, produce, mix, and sing (often background vocals too), but Prince was in a league all his own. There may never be another George Michael, but there WILL NEVER BE another Prince!!!

EDIT: This is not directed at you Superpower, but at the member who made the baseless claim that Michael was better than Prince.

Also, David Bowie was very androgynous through much of his career, and while he married a female, it's almost certain he and Mick Jagger (also dating/married women) had something going on at some point. Both men consider(ed) themselves straight though, as I guess after their fling neither touched another man. Even with Bowie's sexually questionable past, he still dominated ITunes more than Michael. But Bowie had also been around since the 1960s. BTW Careless Whisper is well within the Top 20 when all of its versions are combined.

Based on drops this year, I'm guessing 2018 will be when we'll finally get sales #1s at lower numbers than 2005's lowest points. While 2017 could get us at least one sub-50k #1.

Gift cards effect. For whatever reason, those who received gift cards seem to disproportionately like All Time Low & Mercy (though because Mendes caters to a young demo his boost makes more sense).
