Wow, even Matty throwing me under the bus. Literally never thought I'd become the villain of this cycle.
It's like you all don't even know what a bias is. How can someone who entered a game to be judged on their qualities as a member be mad when I do that? At the very least, iHype. and Jax could do me the decency of explaining what I did, instead of all this "no comment" ******** after dragging my name through the mud all season long.
Finally, the time has come and we are ready to bring out our winner! He's gay , fabulous, smart, and sparkly. A returning contestant. From being called a clone of me (#Selfpraise) to tying the current record for most top call outs in a season, here is our winner, Citrus!
Quote:
From being called a carbon copy of me in your cycle, to now reaching the top and even beating Kitt’s record, you were the MVP of Top Member! How does it feel to have accomplished all this?
It doesn't feel much like anything, honestly. You put so much work and so much heart into something for so long and then...poof, it's over. I don't mean that I'm not grateful, I think I'm just still in a surreal mode. And I didn't beat Kitt's record...We tied in terms of top callouts and I'm perfectly content to share her title.
Now lets get to the point, a lot of people counted you as an underdog a lot of people said you were a frontrunner from the start, where do you think you placed overall?
I was kind of glad that nobody was in the thread going "WOO Citrus will win!!" after the cast was announced. I love being underestimated, whether online or in real life. Some of my closer friends can tell you, I am competitive as hell. I try not to let it show all the time for fear of turning into a raging bitch (see my deleted post after Hype did his fake winner's announcement ). After the first few challenges, I don't think anyone was really discounting me anymore, though.
You were seen as the leader of the newbies pact in this cycle, teaming up with Element and Subomie and clashing with the more known members, how did you feel like this feud turned out overall?
I wouldn't really call it a feud, more that we all tended to split on how we felt about certain entries, challenges, results, etc. The only times people seemed genuinely upset was during the thread challenge, which was all a misunderstanding because the Pokemonsters are ****ing douchebags. However, I do wish the "newbies" had lasted a bit longer. Subomie could've made Top 5 and I honestly expected Element to be in the finale (that doesn't serve to discredit Marq for staying over him; Marq earned his spot 110%).
You and iHype are polar opposites, and was your biggest competition at one point, did you feel like his elimination granted you an easy win?
Hm. Based on the way the judges reacted to him being in the bottom, it might have been easier if he had been in the finale with me. Which is kinda ******, actually...But no, I don't feel that his elimination granted me an easy win. It still ended up coming down to Matty's 5-point vote. Although I would love to see the formula for determining the winner, because I'm curious how my run and Vespertine's ended up being so close in terms of total points. Little bit of shade intended.
Actually, now that I think about it, Vespertine sent home three real contenders for the crown (Cupid, Jax, and iHype). He's giving me Jujubee teas (Rupaul's Drag Race S2). I wonder how things would've turned out if that double elimination for the Upgrade challenge was different.
Do you feel like you had an unfair advantage in the finale or did you still sweat a bit?
I felt that I had an advantage statistically, but it wasn't unfair. I worked hard to get where I am. Although, I was still freaking out while Matty was formatting and deciding. Ask anyone I was chatting at the time...I was a wreck.
Do you think there is room in the winners of Top Member for messy, or loud members? Do you hope that the stigmas changes in other cycles?
I think there is room for all sorts of winners, though I think some judges felt differently. What it comes down to, in terms of stigma, is that you have to be very careful if you have a brash, somewhat polarizing personality. Hype had trouble finding that exact balance, I think. You need to be a little more detached in order to pull that kinda stuff in this particular game. For example, MiMiLamb had the perfect balance in Cycle 11; a bit sleazy, a bit trashy, but all 100% authentic and polished. God, I wish she hadn't dropped out. It would've been hilarious to read her critiques for this cycle (she would've won).
Would Cher be proud of how you did?
I can only hope! At her Dressed to Kill Tour last spring (my first ever concert!!), she ended the show by floating over the audience on a podium and singing to everyone. She went right over my section and I waved and the little *** in me thinks that when she pointed back she was pointing at me. I'll take that as her endorsement.
What type of judge do you think you'll be next season?
It's hard to tell without seeing any of the entries first, but I can be very detail-oriented at times. Anyone who doesn't like me/thinks I don't like them shouldn't be worried, though, because I'm pretty fair I think. Overall though, I feel like I'm gonna be the super hard to please judge.
How do you think you'll do as a judge, and future member around the forum?
Just paste my other answer here, haha, but add this part:
I'm definitely hoping to branch out more into the forum. I'm looking forward to restarting and actually completing ATRL High (my judges list is flawless; you'll see some ANTM alum for sure). I'm also currently in talks with a really great member/friend to adapt a popular reality show to a game format, though that one won't be for a while yet. Obviously my biggest goal on this forum is to continue to promulgate a love of Cher and vitamin C.
A lot of times Top Member winners tend to just fade away (Domino, Mmminaj), do you want to break this tradition and kind of live up to your title?
The shade. DOMINO has done great with his title. I plan on continuing my usage of the forum, albeit hopefully posting a bit more. I will do my best to ensure that I'm not just a member who did well on challenges in a game, and actually work to expand my horizons. This game has done well to give me the skillset in order to do that.
You of course were less known then Vespertine and Marq, do you think its time ATRL learns all about Fruit and You?
Fruit and You sounds like a really great infomercial. I don't think it's time ATRL learns about me, per se. I've never really approached this site wanting popularity (except in the Cher and Pokemonster awards!). I think it's more accurate to say that it's time I become more active in ATRL. If I make more friends and connections on this site as a result of that, awesome.
What advice would you give to anyone eager to join top member next cycle?
Look at past cycles for applications, text length, and formatting, but that's it. Be yourself 100% (unless yourself sucks, in which case be Kitt). Kitting aside, this game grants users a unique opportunity to compete with the best up-and-coming members and to be critiqued by what is arguably the most star-studded panel in any ATRL game. If you think you might want to join, then do it! Be fierce, be committed, and be unabashedly you. That's what I'll be looking for; authenticity.

Chhh
also, Matty literally posted a spreadsheet w/ all the numbers

I did not in any circumstances throw you under the bus! I re-read what I wrote after reading this comment and I personally see no throwing under the bus. If that's the way it came out, I apologize.
If it was for this comment, ""Supa didn't like Jax either" from comments made early on in the competition and what not." There is a reason why I had the first part in quotations, it was kind of like a mockery to all those screaming bias.
I agree with you on the "How can someone who entered a game to be judged on their qualities as a member be mad when I do that?"
See but the thing is, I just did well in a game and now that means I'm desperate for success here. If I was desperate I'd be some trash member with 23,000 posts and no contribution to show for it.
Doing well isn't what made you desperate, the fact that you were like super try hard and kinda weird is what made you desperate (and like, a little too personally invested) You can call it "ambition" but the point is, you were desperate to win an online game for online 'success'. Why would I need something to show for some forum posts? They're like.... forum posts. Not that I have anything to prove (because feeling the need to prove yourself to ATRL is kinda like... desperate), but I have so many posts because I've hosted several highly successful events and games. If you need some tips on that, hit my inbox

And with that we close our reunion. I'm sorry for any hurt feelings or misjudgment that may have been placed during tonight. All these questions were thought of from a viewers perspective and several other inquiries about the cycle or comments I saw. I'm sorry to supaspaz, I didn't mean to place you as a villain and that wasn't my intention.
Thank you to Matty for letting me host the reunion. Plz put me on All Stars
d; Shut up girl Go back to that fake-nice act because the 'look! I can be sassy & shady*~ too! EYE am a TOP member!' look ain't working for you. You asked me why I didn't like you and I told you. That's it, that's all. No condescension. No arrogance. You know nothing about me in real life, so just celebrate your win and keep it pushing
