It's a monkey version of blaziken. Everyone at somepoint knew there would be a fire monkey pokemon. Infact with simisear we have 2. Gen 1 was a different time (pokemon were literally animals) and Gen 2 pokemon were unique. I have no idea what Meganium and Typhlosion are supposed to be and Feraligatr is badass. That is not basic

Gen 1 starters are basic, don't come with the "it was a different time, Remember when pokemon were based of animals type sh*t"
( and i genuinely love every starter Pokemon ..... maybe Emboare not so much)
and besides the types Infernape and Blaziken are totally different in design and stat wise
Meganium is based on a dinosaur and Typhlosion is based on a honey badger .
