I'm not trying too, but I am getting Ocean Lips teas a biT from my song right now because there's so much imagery and it's a happy song. I'm definitely working to differentiate it by talking about some not so happy moments to kind of even it out.

imo Sequels do work when they're bigger than the first ones and cut out the weak points to replace them with stronger ones. Maybe you could look at the reviews for Ocean Lips and make sure to maintain and expand the good points and replace the parts that were criticized?
Speaking of that, I should probably take my own advice and look at my reviews I'm trying to combine hooks with a well-written chorus, so like MG meets Bad Medicine.

I write all my songs in a google doc so I have all of my reviews pasted there I'll def do that this round though now that you said it. I think the style of this song is very similar to OL, but the imagery itself is mostly different, as well as the plot.
