Yeah that's understandable though. Speechless is almost a song that takes a person with certain tastes to enjoy. That seems to be why people either love or hate it. For me, I'm just a big sucker for ballads.

1. It failed to go number one after Gaga stans CLAIMED It would go number one.

I think it sounds a bit better live though.
I think if the vocals and the music were mixed differently, it would have sounded a lot better.
Her voice is too high in some parts and the music should have been more piano-led.

'Telephone' is a different story and it's one of those sure hits.
And 'Bad Romance' didn't hit #1 on the Hot 100, but it was huge hit in the US too nonetheless.

bad romance went better than a lot of people expected...
fans always want and pray that a song go to #1.. but when i listened to bad romance for the first time i thought it would have flopped because it's a very weird song .. in Usa it didn't hit the #1 because of airplay ( the release was a mess).. but bad romance was/is bigger than just dance and you don't count how much bad romance helped the fame on the charts
after 1 year the fame is the #1 album in europe

She changed from "the next Britney" to someone with massive critical acclaim, and it (along with the new album) earned her a lot of respect even from alternative and anti-mainstream audiences. To say it was a failure in any way is complete delusion. To me it is her biggest hit yet.
