The top 20 begins with Beyonce and her controversial ballad of the year, “Halo.” Her sudden change of pace after a string of mid-to-uptempo tracks made this song a remarkable one.

One of my current favorite groups checks in at #19, OneRepublic has returned this year with an album called “Waking Up,” and the track “All The Right Moves” is its carrier single. I love the powerful drum beats and the piano and violin sounds the band has incorporated in this track. I also love its music video.

My good bitch JM4Ever will be elated to see that his boy David Archuleta finishes off the year inside the Top 20 this time with his second single “A Little Too Not Over You.” It didn’t do well in the US compared to “Crush,” but I think this is one of the strongest tracks from his album.

Katy’s final and highest-charting song in the Top 100 is “Thinking of You.” Again, I tend to appreciate a slower song when its released after a bunch of upbeat and fun tracks. This one never failed and it suits Katy’s voice very well.

During my first listing of the Top 100, this song placed at #9, but after a few revisions, it ended up at #16. Nevertheless, it was still a huge year for them with one top-tenner “You Found Me,” and one Top 15 hit “Never Say Never.” I hope “Syndicate” performs well next year coz I really love that track.
