- I'm a huge fan of Robbie's, and always have been, and have been getting pretty sick and tired of this whole phenomenon that Take That have been experiencing. So you can imagine how happy I was that Robbie Williams was releasing a new album. I really loved "Bodies" when I first heard it, and I still occasionally listen to it. It's got a great feel to it, and an amazing rhythm. The song peaked at #4, but stayed on the chart for 10 weeks, and an astonishing fall on my charts from #21 - #49. This is two of two songs by Robbie Williams in the chart.
Just Jack ^_^ I haven't heard much by him other than in 2007 and it's nice to see him here. I forgot he was on GG!
KOL, Gossip, LP, and Kelly Clarkson ^_^
Grizzly Bear, Passion Pit, Owl City, YYYs albums ^_^
Just Dance = Very insane to know that was her first song and how big she's become after it.

071. Lil Wayne ft. Bobby Valentino - "Mrs. Officer" (372 points)
70. James Morrison ft. Nelly Furtado - "Broken Strings" (372 points)
- First heard this back in 2008, and was a stand out song from his album, Songs For You, Truths For Me. It was great that he actually released it though. It's got an amazing chorus, with amazing lyrics, and just a great tune overall. It peaked at #4 in my charts in January 2009, and gained a Platinum certification for staying on the chart for 15 weeks. This is the only song by James Morrison in the chart. This is two of two songs by Nelly Furtado in the chart.
Last Year's 70: "Paralyzer" by Finger Eleven
69. Rihanna - "Russian Roulette" (379 points)
- A slow starter, and a song that I was pretty disappointed in on first listen. It wasn't what I was expecting from Rihanna, but sure enough after more listens, I loved it! Rihanna is a great popstar, and for the first time, her voice sounded amazing. The song became an expected hit Worldwide, and also managed a peak of #3 in my charts. It hasn't gained a certification though as it has only been on the charts 10 weeks, and is currently at #13. This is two of three songs by Rihanna in the chart.
Last Year's 69: "Bye, Bye" by Mariah Carey
68. Jordin Sparks - "Battlefield" (395 points)
- Again, another slow starter. When I first heard this song, I'll be honest, I hated it. I lost all faith in it her, and thought, wow, Jordin is never going to get another #3 on my Year-End countdown, but a month later, and a few more listens, the song became a Top 10 hit on my charts, peaking at #9. I couldn't stop listening to this, and found myself singing "Guess you better go and get your armour" over and over again. This is two of two songs by Jordin Sparks in the chart.
Last Year's 68: "Paper Planes" by M.I.A.
67. Sugababes - "About a Girl" (400 points)
- What a trainwreck of a year Sugababes have had. Starting off the year knowing they have released their worst album to date, then Amelle goes into a rehab style clinic, and then Keisha's kicked out the band. While we're left thinking, yes that's the Sugababe's definitely over now, but no, they decide to go and get a new member in the form of Jade Ewen. Anyway, About a Girl is an amazing song, and one of my most played songs of the year on iTunes, which is hard to believe. The song peaked at #6, and has so far been certified with a Gold certification. This is one of two songs by Sugababes in the chart.
Last Year's 67: "I Decided Part 2" by Solange Knowles
66. Drake - "Best I Ever Had" (400 points)
- Yes, another song that took a while for me to like, aswell as make an impact on the charts. It entered my charts in March peaking within the Top 40. But in the summer, it gained prominence again with no real reason, and re-entered my charts, before peaking at #8. This is just a great rap song all in all, with a massive beat and awesome verses. You're the ****ing best, you're the ****ing best, you're the ****ing best, you're the best I ever had. I tried hard not to song this infront of my parents, but sometimes it was just too hard to keep in, it was that catchy. This is the only song by Drake in the chart.
Last Year's 66: "If I Never See Your Face Again" by Maroon 5 ft. Rihanna
65. Sugababes - "Get Sexy" (404 points)
- Cos I'm too sexy in this club, too sexy in this club, so sexy it hurts. If you feel sexy in this club, then go head toast it up, then get down, let's get sexy right now. Not the smartest of lyrics, but when you see a song title like "Get Sexy", you're not going to be expecting anything that great, but Sugababes can really smash their critics because this song just makes you want to get up and dance. Yes a very camp song, but then again, it samples the very gay Right Said Fred and their 1991 single "I'm Too Sexy". It's still a good song none the less, and started off a very promising era for the Sugababes, or Sugababes 4.0. This is two of two songs by Sugababes.
Last Year's 65: "Little Miss Obsessive" by Ashlee Simpson
64. Britney Spears - "Circus" (407 points)
- Released as the second single from her brilliant Circus album, the song peaked at #4 within the first week of January in 2009. It has a great beat, and Britney is looking extremely hot in the video. Although it was a pretty strong single, and didn't get old for me, it only managed a Gold certification and never got over the 20 week mark. This is one of four songs by Britney Spears in the chart.
Last Year's 64: "Work (Freemasons Remix)" by Kelly Rowland
63. Britney Spears - "3" (414 points)
- A second Britney song in a row, wow for the Britney fans. A song about threesome was something I had to hear, especially a Britney one. On first listen, I automatically knew, this is a great pop song. It also gave an invisible middle finger to her critics by showing them she really doesn't care about her child fans, she's still going to sing a song about a threesome, which I applaud her for. The song peaked at #6 in my charts back in October, and has stayed on the charts for 12 weeks, before falling off the chart on the January 1st 2010 chart. This is two of four songs by Britney Spears in the chart.
Last Year's 63: "Pjanoo" by Eric Prydz
62. Dizzee Rascal - "Bonkers" (417 points)
- I feel ashamed for even liking this song, but sadly, it's too hard not to like it. Such a catchy beat, and with the fast spitting lyrics, you just can't deny the pure Dance pleasure of Bonkers. "Some people think I'm Bonkers, but I just think I'm free, man I'm just living my life, there's nothing crazy bout me." I automatically loved this song, and couldn't stop listening to it when it leaked. The song peaked at #5 on my charts, and was given the honour of a Platinum certification for staying in the charts 15 weeks. This is two of two songs by Dizzee Rascal in the chart.
Last Year's 62: "The Way That I Love You" by Ashanti
61. Britney Spears - If U Seek Amy (421 points)
- Britney yet again inside the Top 70. The one thing I loved about Britney Spears in 2009 was her new attitude transformation towards the public and the media, she doesn't care what you think about her lyrics anymore, and that's applaudable. The beginning of her video even spells it out for you, "F U C K ME" - C'mon all men, Britney wants to ****, we should give her what she wants. The song peaked at #9 in my charts, becoming her second lowest chart position in my charts. Never the less, the song still managed a platinum certification. This is three of four songs by Britney Spears in the chart.
Last Year's 61: "Fuego" by The Cheetah Girls

Favourite Tracks: Happy Up Here, Miss It So Much (feat. Lykke Li), The Girl And the Robot (feat. Robyn), It's What I Want
Release Date: March 23, 2009
Chart Positions: UK- 21, U.S.- 126, AUS- 28
- Surprised? I'm not. Royksopp are one of my favourite dance/electro acts. Melody A.M. is one of my favourite albums of the decade, and of the year it was released, 2001. So I was very excited at the fact that the Norwegian duo were releasing their third album, and their first in four years. Junior is full of exciting dance-pop songs that are so futuristic that it puts will.i.am and his idea of the 31st century to shame. With featurettes from two of Sweden's biggest female talents, Robyn and Lykke Li. They complete their transition from trip-hop to Electronic popsters. To prove this comparison, compare their 2001 hit "Poor Leno" to their electronic masterpiece "The Girl And the Robot", you'll soon see the brilliant transition. While TGATR describes the ill-fated romance between a girl and strangely enough a robot. They will be releasing a follow up album, Senior, in early 2010, so make sure to check out their beautiful robotic music.
26. The Element of Freedom by Alicia Keys Singles Released: Doesn't Mean Anything, Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart
Favourite Tracks: Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down, Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart, Love Is Blind, Like the Sea
Release Date: December 11 2009
Chart Positions: UK- 17, U.S.- 2, AUS- 21
- For me, this album was some of Alicia's best work. While As I Am was getting all the recognition back in 2007/08, I'm giving Alicia an A+ for effort on this R&B masterpiece. Alicia works this album down to a fine art, polishing up her superb vocals, and finishing off the song with her divine mastery over a Piano. "Empire State of Mind" was a brilliant song, along with Jay-Z's work, it just made a great song, but then Alicia blew me with a soft version of the Hip-Hop gold. She tones the song down, and writes an expressive ballad about New York City, which makes you visualize the City itself, and not many songs can do that. Alicia comes under a genre that's full of Auto-Tuned artists, and Alicia really shouldn't be put under that category, because she should be in a whole new league of her own. "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart" is a haunting lullaby that tells you of Alicia's heartbreak, that can only be true because the lyrics are just too saddening to be fake. What an awesome album, and I'm glad that Alicia's released an album that I've loved. She's done this in 2001 and 2003, but as I've stated, extremely disappointed me in 2007. Many welcome returns Alicia! See you in May.
25. Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy Singles Released: Invaders Must Die, Omen, Warrior's Dance, Take Me to the Hospital
Favourite Tracks: Invaders Must Die, Warrior's Dance, Take Me to the Hospital, Thunder
Release Date: February 18 2009
Chart Positions: UK- 1, U.S.- 58, AUS- 3
- I am a huge Prodigy fan, and this album was just awesome. If you are listening to this album quietly, then you are not getting the full advantage of The Prodigy's greatness. I hate rave music, but you just cannot beat The Prodigy. You have to have this album up at full volume and you'll just get lost in the rhythm of the rave beats. For some people the songs are repititive, but I feel like every song just carries on into another bassline, and takes you somewhere else. You couldn't escape the song "Invaders Must Die" in 2009. It was used for nearly every advert on UK television. Anytime they were advertising for a Television show, this song just seemed like the main priority as far as advertising music goes. But there was no problem there, because the music just screams "drunk dancing". I love this album, and is The Prodigy's best work since 1997's Fat of the Land. I felt like I was back in the 90's with this album, and I loved that. Glad to have the real Prodigy back.
