How many people do you need to make an album anyway?
One primary artist and a producer/co-writer who also plays the instruments (Pure Heroine).
Or one musician who sings, writes, plays all the instruments and produces the recording (The first Foo Fighters album).
Which other other people involved in the creation of the album do you think get paid for an iTunes download, but not a Spotify stream?
Unless session musicians are named on the album credits, they probably got paid cash for the recording session and don't make a cent from streaming or sales.
If you want to support musicians, listen to smaller bands that don't sell huge volumes or go see your favourite artists play live.
