Twenty One Pilots "Guns For Hands" Vessel
What I really like about this song is that it’s like someone mixed different songs into one final melody. Two months ago this song was still part of my top 50 of my preliminary Year-End but another slightly better song from this band eventually overtook it.
The Xx "Fiction" Coexist
Finally this band makes its final appearance on my Best Of. This song is so peaceful and quiet, it helped me to stay calmed after being stressed on many occasions this year.
Sara Bareilles "Brave" The Blessed Unrest
My favorite part about Sara’s music is its melodies, they’re catchy with really nice production, Brave is no exception, the video is not very good but it’s still a good empowerment song.
Imagine Dragons "It’s Time" Night Visions
This song already appeared on my past Year-End countdown, but I couldn’t helped it, I played it too much this year, along with the whole Night Visions album that it deserved to appear one last time this year.
One Direction "Best Song Ever" Midnight Memories
One Direction remains as the only current boy-band I like recently, I think all the members, aside from Louis, are talented enough. They’re not on the same league as other iconic boy-bands like BSB, N Sync or Take That, but certainly are way better than other talentless pseudo groups like The Wanted or Big Time Rush.
Justin Timberlake feat. Jay-Z "Suit & Tie" The 20/20 Experience
One of the most successful comeback of the year is here. Unlike many people who said JT’s comeback was boring, in my opinion The 20/20 Experience was a really good album, but he should’ve stick with only part 1 or just release a whole album with both parts. JT has 1 more solo song and another collaboration with Jay-Z on this countdown.
She & Him "I Could’ve Been Your Girl" Volume 3
Who’s that girl? It’s Jess. I’ve known the music from this group since 2010 I think, but since this year I watched Zooey’s tv show New Girl, I got more interested in her, this song spent ages on my Closing Calls list on my weekly countdown and now it gets a relatively nice position on my list.
Example "Say Nothing" The Evolution Of Man
Example first appeared on my Yearly countdowns back in 2010 with his song Kickstarts, this year I wasn’t a big fan of his music, but this old song, Say Nothing, spent enough weeks on my personal countdown to allow him to be at least one time on this year’s list.
Mumford & Sons "I Will Wait" Babel
I find folk music slightly more interesting than country music, but it remains still as one of the musical genres I don’t really care about. I don’t think Babel is that good but from the tracks I checked I Will Wait is the highlight for me.
Anna Kendrick "Cups" Pitch Perfect (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Anna was probably my biggest celebrity crush this year, the fact that she already has both a smash hit in music and a nomination for an Academy Award says we can expect many good things coming from her.
