Ke$ha's apologized and attempted to give an explanation to rectify the situation. I question her decision to comment on the matter at all. In my mind, an apology isn't necessary for something that isn't really that offensive. It's a playful and possibly unnecessary namedrop, but the actual offensive value of the "Britney Who?" bit is, in my mind, highly debatable. I'm begging someone to listen to the track, consider what's actually being said in verse/chorus, and then consider how the theme presented corresponds to the supposed Britney dis. Taken out of context, most will interpret "In ten years, Britney Spears... Britney who?" as some silly attempt by Ke$ha to assert her dominance over the industry and announce the downfall of the Queen of Pop. No, that sort of arrogance and delusion does not exist in this track. Thus track simply details the fact that nothing lasts forever; your ****** feeling will subside, your sucky relationship will end, and yes, even things that to us seem so culturally relevant and indispensable may not be remembered. As far as I'm concerned it's a compliment of the highest honor that Britney, a girl who has had incredible statin power and is such a icon of our times, would be Ke$ha's go-to example to illustrate her point. It seems bizarre to us to imagine a world where Britney Spears in a nobody, but what Ke$ha sings is the truth; one day Britney Spears will be a nobody, though it seems unfathomable because she's BRITNEY ****ING SPEARS. It's not so much an insult directed at Britney as it is a clever/humorous way to bring the message full-circle.
And while we're here, that other minor controversy where Ke$ha denounced lip-syncing and therein "shaded" Britney because the question, as it was posed to Ke$ha, mentioned Ms. Spears specifically is significant of nothing. Ke$ha was sufficiently vague in her response, only saying that she disagreed with lip-syncing. Do as Ke$ha would do; hate the lip-syncing, not the lip-syncer. She was set up to insult Britney, but I think she maneuvered around the trap with grace.

Okay yet Beyonce can have a song calling herself the #1 diva in the game and saying there's no passengers on her plane in addition to bragging about how much money she has, how many records she sold, etc.
But Rihanna says something and it gets 20 pages.

True, although Beyoncé released B'Day in 2006 and it sold millions, and Rihanna released her first album in 05 & in 06 before B'Day, so why didn't they sell just as much since it was so easy back then?

To spill some tea, and I can do it without insulting people and being rude unlike you. If anybody will be racking up points it's you.

I don't know of a song like that from GaGa, Katy Perry, or Ke$ha.

In all honesty, I don't think Ke$ha really hates Britney, but it's funny how Britney stans can so easily forgive Ke$ha, when if this situation were reversed and it was Gaga, they would have burned her alive.
I understand the context in which she mentioned Britney, but she knew she would stir the pot with some remark like that. The fact that she uses Britney to illustrate her point seems like she doesn't respect her enough, because she's so quick declare to that Britney's legacy won't last even when Britney herself doesn't.
