And no, I'm not hating on Kesha. I'm hating on the song because yes, I'm mad that out of these potential #1s Animal has they chose this and BBB. They flopped (well, you know what I mean) with BBB and didn't learn the lesson, hopefully same happens with YLIMD.

Well most of your facts so far have been wrong so actually I wouldn't be so sure in your ability to collect them, and the reason being would be justify why you said that Drug is doing so much better than Alejandro when you hadn't taken into account all of the factors affecting them. That has nothing to do with who you were talking to at the beginning

^ The Fame Monster (Deluxe) does however contain it, and that version is combined with the charting position of The Fame which is why it's been so high on the charts.
3mill (current) - 1.6mill (total before rerelease) = 1.4mill
1.4mill (sales of deluxe) + 1mill (EP sales) = 2.4mill
Although some of the 1.4mill will be sales of the regular, so we can estimate about 2 million people have Alejandro through album sales.
So halfway between your estimates

Agreed, it would definitely go at least Top 5, but I can see logic in not releasing it. The beat, the lyrics, the mmm thing - it all sounds too generic and like what she's released before. While Alejandro sounds nothing like her previous singles.

Nick, I agree. "Monster" would be Top 20 right now already if released.  "Alejandro" isn't exactly different, to be honest. The beat is a slowed down "Poker Face", and still contains many of RedOne's generic production tools. On top of that, the ABBA/Ace of Base/Madonna comparisons. Plus, radio hasn't dropped her with 6 consecutive upbeat singles. I doubt "Monster" would all of sudden do bad because it's similar to her other songs. I think people call it different to excuse the fact that "Monster" is the better choice. Just my opinion.
