Excuse me? When did this happen? Last I checked "Circus" went #1 after "Womanizer", and "Amy" went Top 10. Then "3" came and peaked at #2. All of them Top 10 on the Radio Chart, with most Pop support except "Amy". The only time she has burned was during the Blackout era, for obvious reasons. Please don't sit in here and dumb down her success, when you cry wolf each time someone says something about Rihanna.

His post said "burns and crashes with her next songs". "Radar" being in the middle of 4 radio and chart hits doesn't support his dull-witted idea. Even then, "Radar" reached the Top 40 despite its circumstances. Thanks for the reply, though.

I know right? I only listened to it when I downloaded the Year-End Hot 100 hits of 2010. It's a really great song.

180M minimum. It will probably peak at around 180M~190M, but 200M is possible with HAC starting to pick it up. I think the last song to peak at over 200M is No One by Alicia Keys, although correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm honestly just curious, but what "obvious reasons" do you believe led to Blackout not succeeding as much as her other eras? Unless you're referring to her personal life at that time, then in that case I understand. Really the only reason I ask is because I'm listening to it right now and every song sounds like it should have been a hit! It's a shame pop radio wasn't ready for that album when it was released

It was being referred to her personal life and no promo done on her part.

Radar was underrated. I think if it were released during the Blackout era post-VMAs it would have smashed.

*sigh*
3 is da start of a new era (greatest hits), hence, u proved my point. It did well.
IUSA peaked at #8 , solid , but relatively not well considering other pop chicks are hittin' #1 with their 3rd singles. We're talkin bout Britney here. You also forgot about Radar
I hope things prove different this go round b/c i like da chick and support her. That is all.

I love Britney but in term of single success (radio, digital sales, billboard,...), Britney is nowhere compared with Rihanna. Even with her "flop" era, Rihanna managed to have 3 top ten singles (including a 5-weeks no.1). Although Russian Roulete didn't not do well in US but outside US, it was a huge hit.

I loved Rader since it was leaked in 2007 and kept the hope for making it a single. But when it was released, i cant understand why it flopped so hard even in UK and Canada

rihanna does better on billboard cause she does R&B, so her songs are played in every single radio format. get the list of higher airplays in history and look for pop songs - u wont find any. britney's songs are played basicly on pop radios.
and u dont wanna compare their names right? britney is a legend, rihanna is a successful singer.

Only Girl (in the world), Don't stop the music, Disturbia are R&B ?
Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Fergie, Gaga do Pop and their single still very successful.

Rihanna has had it easier, since she was born in the digital era. A lot of Britney's hits would have been #1 too if digital downloads were available back then. Crazy, Oops, Stronger, Toxic, and Everytime were all robbed.

Yeah, I would say Rihanna is a pop singer who leans R&B and appeals to that audience, much like how Mariah was hence the reason of them getting widespread support...
