I'm aware. But the impact she had was undeniable. The amount of people she influenced and the amount of Britney clones there were shows just how popular she was. Everyone knows she isn't anywhere near as relevant or successful as she used to be, but most people in the world know the name Britney Spears. Her records/achievements may be old, but they still happened. She's the best-selling female artist of all time behind Madonna, Whitney, Mariah and Celine and they weren't even her generation. Her stats are very impressive, let's not act like she's some forgotten #1 hit wonder or that no one remembers her.

People will do too much on Britney because Britney's an easy target that just so happens to be the most successful female artist of the past 15 years. They'll do anything to chip away at her success.
It is what it is and that's ok.
Yes Britney has many records and the first week sales isn't exactly the biggest one but it's still a top 5 one. Let them be. Will Taylor keep it for 15 years if she gets it? maybe not Will Adele? Perhaps.

Because taylor is a true musician, dedicated to her craft who has spent the past two years working and creating a masterpiece that not only reflects the innovative music of the 80s, but also appeals to the audience of today. True but certs are by shipments. So as long as Adele doesn't get 3x diamond or Taylor gets a diamond album then I think one of the Army's higher ranking accolades. Britney as the 8th best selling female in the US and 5th WW should be safe and it's a bigger accolade so I'm not sure why things like that, best selling teenage artist of all time, first to do ...many things one of 4 (2nd to Janet) having 3 #1 albums and 3 #1 singles in 3 decades all of the sudden becomes lower ranked because of first week sales. 1st week sales is for sure top 5 and will be removed eventually if not by Taylor but Adele. Some of the other ones won't be removed.

Taylor better snatch the #1 female this billboard year while she's at it. Ha slayage won't go in vain.
