But see, the song is a monster amazing well received by all kind of people, people really enjoys "Roar". That's the reason why the song is truly a digital monster, I mean, just see how it's doing on iTunes, and my Gosh, the 6th best selling week for a single overall in digital history and still it was able to do almost 400k the week after, I mean, that's truly impressive, still gaining on Streaming, that's what people was asking for.. Stop understimating "Roar" sucess, God, we have facts, now if you don't like Katy, just fine, but don't start these things

I was referring to Bonnie McKee's "American Girl" that sounds exactly like a Katy Perry song yet isn't doing nearly as well because it's not Katy Perry. Bonnie McKee also wrote "Roar" but if she sung it, it'd be at #100 instead of #2, just like if Katy Perry sung "American Girl" it'd be at #2 & not #100. Plain. And. Simple.

Has American Girl even been promoted outside of radio stations though? I'm sure if the female Katy Perry had the exposure, payola and promotion as extensive as the true Katy Perry right now, the general public would be using her too. Not to the extent of instant 300K+ weekly sales, but she will be a lot successful than she is right now nonetheless.

Its simple, katy took all of mckees "good" songs. American girl is like the bottom of the teenage dream scrap barrel. And sure katys name gives roar the exposure it needs (as gagas did applause) its the public liking it that keeps the song afloat, hence roar smashing and applause underperforming

She's kind of reminds me of Skyler Grey right now who still has the power to write hits for other people (Skyler wrote Zedd's Clarity), but when it comes to her own material, it's a little weaker and not exactly breakthrough material

Or maybe not. One Katy Perry is enough. That Nikki "Glowing" chick won't go far either because her music sounds too Katy-ish.

Nikki was like Katy+Demi.
It's a shame Glowing peaked at #101, I think "With Ur Love" did too
