Lady Gaga WON and is here to stay. 200k debuts in 2016 is impressive, it isn't just a "wow, good numbers for her" praise, there's a reason you can count the number of artists doing it on one finger nowadays.

If Katy had a Perfect Illusion-sized flop as a lead single and zero airplay and still did 201k, nobody would drag her. Especially when she only did 192k with two #1 hits with like 200 million audience on radio and performances everywhere back in 2010 (when the market was much better)
going from someone bordering the like of OGH status for the past year or so , i truly expected her to flop into all oblivion , and I even kinda still believed it after i heard the album (which i ended up really enjoying mostly) and she's doing truly decent numbers !
i see a parallel to beyoncé; she may not succeed any longer on the radio single front but managing to sustain pop cultural relevance (particularly among gays) and push a decent amount of albums for the years to come!
