Chart Notes: It was a weird week I guess. I don't know what happened to hear. We see four new debuts on the single chart. I finally re-downloaded Pitbull's album and picked up Time Of Our Lives (humorously: when I downloaded the album the week it came out, I got a glitchy version of the song and finally replaced it also). Look for Globalization to possible show up on the album chart. That's how you really know something is hitting me right.
In addition to Pitbull, Viet Cong, Father John Misty, and Rae Sremmurd debut; each new debut brings a new artist to the chart (Viet Cong and Father John Misty debut for the first time, Pitbull & Ne-You get their first hit - Pitbull will likely have many more to come though- and Rae Sremmurd's track brings a debut for Young Thug on the singles chart.
In addition to the new artists, the diversity is a little overwhelming; even for me! R&B, Country, Folk (70s and contemporary), Pop, Latin Pop, Rap/Hip-Hop, Experimental Electronic, and Whatever Genre You Call Pitbull are represented here. The only thing missing is metal and unfortunately that left with last week's update.
There's not much else here to say except Rihanna rose, Pitbull could challenge for number 1, Ciara slipped in plays a bit but racks up three weeks at number one (if only I had this chart/knew about this site when Body Party came out
) and my namesake appears somewhere here and Drake regains the top spot for albums (the most coveted spot here, as that is where the heavy plays come in: his album is certified 3x Plat here now by the way).
Anyway, that's enough for now. I might edit in a comment or two later. I guess, the transition in songs here might be due to the fact that my personal life is a mess or like Celebrate mentioned on his chart, or Jungle Disturbia mentioned to me, I do change my listening habits according to the season. Happy Spring!
