Was that you who played this song in plugdj one time? If so, it makes sense now why you played it. There is such another attitude filled song that shows a theme of I am better than you. It even kind of explains it in the very beginning of the video with the definitions of what a Diva is. While I do think it gives some insight of Bey saying she’s the best and better than you, I think it’s more of a song saying how she is popular and successful. Is there kind of a correlation between the two, yes, without a doubt. I just think this is more about popularity and being that DIVA, than being better than you.

I saw the clip and I saw the song choice, but I was like what does Elsa and Jack have to do with this? I watched the video while reading your entry and I’m laughing. It is so cute and goes along with the song. I think the song is pretty self-explanatory and fits extremely well with the theme. What gets me though is the out of the box song choice. So far everyone has been going for the newer, but still good songs; but you are bringing back some of the oldies showing that it’s not just now that people are boasting themselves as best. Another thing I find is great is that you are kind of connecting an older song with something quite new; Elsa and Jack. It is connecting the generations in a thematic way that fits.

I never really truly realized how kind of pointless Jeezy’s rap was in the song until you mentioned it. He does kind of boast’s himself a little, but it does seem off to what the song is about. Neverthless, Round 4 for the Rihanna theme, here we go. I’m just going to go on record and say that Hard is probably the first song Rihanna has recorded and released that said that she is the best of all. If it’s not, it is probably the most known. Just like any other newer Rihanna songs with this theme, it gives off that attitude and sass that she is the best and she knows it. It is the reason why she is on the top and why she is so ‘Hard’.

I appreciate this out of the box thinking on a song to use for this theme. I usually like those who try to be creative and thinking differently, but I truly think this missed the mark. I do see the comparison about how Loretta is singing about a woman not being good enough to steal her man making her the best. However, it truly is just a song about a woman not being enough to steal her man and the characteristics as to why. There is really not much boasting on her part as to why she’s better except for that overall slight indication in which is the reason why you sent this song.

Ugh, this sound is such a jam. I love this song. The song is pretty much straightforward and Mary explains why she is the best, or The One she claims. I can’t help but feel like there is some low lying contradiction when she says “I’m not saying I’m the best, but I’m the best.” It’s like are you or are you not saying you are the best? Good God, she name drops herself more than she did with Alejandro in the music video and Jason Derulo does in the beginning of his tracks. Okay, that is a bit of an exaggeration. Alejandro x 1 trillion takes that cake on the most times a name is being said. With that said, yes the song fits the theme of this challenge; however, it is annoying as ****. If you’re going to make a song saying I’m better than you, you need more to it than just name dropping your stage name with the things you can do. Also, I didn’t read your entry. It looks like a year 2000-I-just-learned-how-to-make-glitter-art mess, I’m sorry. It just made things so unappealing aesthetically that I just couldn’t read it. Bright side? The entry matched the song; a mess.

I'm sorry for the font but if it was that difficult you could've just pasted it onto Word and changed to Arial or whatever. When I sent the PM I re-read it several times without problems but maybe the quoting made it more incomprehensible, I don't know. Some of you were criticizing my font choice/tacky graphics rather than my actual entry!
