It's weird how 1 year ago we thought those numbers were so good, and now they look so miniature. In a year again we'll be thinking the same.

As far as streaming goes, CFMF's video isn't doing all that well on YouTube, so streams are about equal - if they put up a lyric video or even an audio video for Drag Me Down on YouTube, it'll have a streaming advantage. That just leaves airplay. Drag Me Down could end up with more than 30M AI considering that a lot of the big pop stations (like Z100 and KIIS) are still playing it even though the radio deal is over. So it's ultimately going to come down to a 150-175K sales difference vs. a 120M AI difference. I'm not sure what the Hot 100 formula is, but it seems doable.

Drag Me Down needs to sell over 400K to compete with #1 for Can't Feel My Face under the H100 formula, even w/ 30M audience + 10M Streams.

Even though I liked Drag Me Down, I don't see them debuting at #1 unless they upload a lyric video on YouTube. Can't Feel My Face got the airplay department and it seems that's heavily taken into account in the Hot 100 formula, right?

Following its unexpected release on Friday, July 31, the track set a new record for the greatest number of streams over one day on the service, notching up 4.75 million plays globally.
The figure means the band topple previously leader See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth, which clocked 4.26 million streams on April 17, five weeks after its release.

With Apple Music streams now added in, Spotify now only counts for about half of the On Demand Streaming for Billboard. Hopefully we can get access to the Apple charts soon, because Spotify alone won't help that much anymore.

From UK's BPI yearly issue on the 2014 UK Industry (released in June). Here's stuff on Streaming in UK during 2014:
.
7 tracks passed 10M streams in UK during 2013, 73 during 2014, and already 59 during half of 2015 in.

Spotify announced it got 4.75M, meaning the #'s from that day were probably in error, which would explain why we didn't get a chart following yesterday. A mess.

Maybe the reason we don't get updates every day is because they make errors tabulating the data.

If those numbers weren't exact then no numbers ever were. I mean they said SYA got 4.26M in 1 day back in April 17 while charts said:
WW TOP5
1. See You Again (=) 3.842M
2. Lean On (=) 1.987M
3. Love Me Like You Do (=) 1.917M
Mess indeed
Btw even Billboard reported it
http://m.billboard.com/v/News/OneDirectionsDragMe2
I'm confused, how did they got 4.75M streams when they topped only 15 countries? (US one of the with "only" 1.2M).
Anyway one thing is sure, first song ever to debut #1 WW and US.
