Mess @ the director getting all high and mighty about the idea of having
LSH spend an entire season just killing people (which I don't think anyone suggested and really shows a lack of creativity)
when an entire season was ACTUALLY spent finding new ways to torture Theon without revealing any new information. Those scenes were definitely not needed; but of course, that was
sexualized violence, so it naturally gets a pass in their heads.
But can we talk about how Tyrion exploding over Tywin calling
Shae a ***** is so much less powerful than the canon given that, you know, Shae
is a ***** and Tyrion has called her that repeatedly over the course of the series? The point of Tysha, WHO IS DEFINITELY A PERSON THAT EXISTS EVEN IN THE SHOW'S VERSION OF THE STORY, was that she was just an innocent girl who honestly loved Tyrion - they were
married - and paid a terrible price for it. I get the whole "My Girl is Not a ****" trope, but I think it's a much weaker motivation than it should have been. It also justifies Tyrion to the viewers since yeah, he killed Shae, but at least he said he was sorry and defended her to his father. Preserving Tyrion's angel-status is all important, after all. I just don't get why they would acknowledge Tysha previously and not bring her up here. Do they honestly think the viewers are that dumb to not remember? It could have been settled in the Previously On section.
