I remember I always knew We Belong Together and Don't Forget About Us, but I didn't realize she had a huge era - or that we was worth the time and energy. However, I was born in 94, so I wasn't really into music when she was slaying us on the radio (including TEOM). I only started really getting into her in 2011, after reading my Lambs brag about her on the comments on ThatGrapeJuice After all this vocal bragging, I thought that I had to get into her - and I was....GOD. THANK GOD, the LORD!!!!! It wasn't hard getting into her; I just listened to her most popular songs, and they were good... So, after starting to get into her I realized that I've actually spent a lot of years of my youth on her music: Obviously All I Want For Christmas was omnipresent, but I can honestly remember the melody to Always Be My Baby, Anytime You Need A Friend (and that feature I Know What You Want.....LOL, of all songs!).
Obviously I noticed her amazing vocal skills - but I thought she just "got lucky" on We Belong Together and Don't Forget About Us...Then I started really listening to her music. Funny thing, is that it took me three months to realize that her whistle wasn't some computer effect

OMG!
I go to that site everyday! What's your username? I'm kinda well known for my Mariah defense on that site
I defend/drag for Mimi all the time that everyone assume that I was a lamb and her stan so eventually I accepted it. Tell me your username!!!
Personally, I was born and raised in Africa and moved to the U.S in 2006 so I didn't have the time nor capacity to know who she was let alone any other star besides a couple of obvious stars like Michael Jackson. I eventually found out who Mariah was (through Nicki Cannon because of AGT
) and then I though she couldn't sing because of the MJ memorial (2009 - era). I knew her hits like Obsessed and Touch my body because everyone at school sang them
It wasn't until about 1 year ago that I discovered ABMB
and I spinned that song like nobody's bidnz
It wasn't after listening to Vision of Heaven that I became a serious fan and then going on (Thatgrapejuice) that I became a stan/lamb.
