Here's what the estimates are showing for Halloween weekend:
01 NE SAW 3D $22,500,000 $24,200,000
02 01 PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 $16,500,000 $65,658,000
03 03 RED $10,811,000 $58,905,000
04 02 JACKASS 3-D $8,425,000 $101,578,000
05 04 HEREAFTER $6,320,000 $22,161,000
06 06 SECRETARIAT $5,071,000 $44,774,000
07 05 THE SOCIAL NETWORK $4,700,000 $79,706,000
08 07 LIFE AS WE KNOW IT $4,000,000 $43,478,000
09 09 THE TOWN $1,950,000 $87,602,000
10 25 CONVICTION $1,825,000 $2,378,000
Absolutely awesome to see Saw 3D debuting at number one will strong numbers. Last year, Saw VI opened with $14,118,444, putting it at number two behind Paranormal Activity. Its opening weekend made about 51% of its total, where it made $27,693,292 all together. Pretty sad numbers. Thankfully, this opening for Saw 3D is the fifth best in the seven-part series. II through V all opened with better numbers, but this is still a good way for the series to end. I honestly believed it would debut at number two, behind Paranormal Activity 2, with about $15-$18 million.
In other news, Paranormal Activity 2, a prequel to the first installment of the films, dropped 60% this weekend. A little shocking, considering it was Halloween weekend, and the film is supposed to be one of the most hyped films of the year. I expect it to continue to fall quickly, along with Saw 3D, since they are both Halloween based films. I see Paranormal Activity 2 finishing with about $85-$95 million, and Saw 3D with about $35-45 million. Pretty good for both. Paranormal Activity made $107,918,810, and Saw VI made $27,693,292 (the lowest grossing of the series).
Next weekend, we have the release of Due Date and Megamind, which are both set to debut with high numbers. For Colored Girls also hits theaters next weekend, and looks to open with decent numbers.

I saw PA2 this weekend and it was so disappointing.
PA >>>>
I was expecting Saw to bomb, so I'm a little surprised to see it's numbers.

Paranormal drop is good. All the hype went into the debut weekend ($41 million), and will finish as good as the first.

^You think? With Halloween over, I expect precipitous drops and failure to crack $100M.
Red is holding on so well.
