Last year, SM Entertainment made 270 billion won (~ $260 million USD), which is almost twice the revenue compared to two years prior in 2011, 140 billion won (~ $140 million USD). YAY With comebacks and music from SNSD, SHINEE, HENRY, Super Junior, BoA, TVXQ, J-Min, two comebacks for EXO, and F(x) with masterpiece Pink Tape. (most were albums with old school artists releasing singles)
Meanwhile, YG made 120 billion won (~ $110 million USD), which is a 49% increase from 2011 when they posted revenue of 78 billion won (~ $76 million USD). YAY with music By Daesung, Lee Hi, Gummy, GD, CL, 2NE1, Psy, Kang Seung Yoon, Ku Hye Sun, Team A and Team B, Taeyang, and Seungri. (most with the exception of Lee Hi, GD, and Seungri were single releases.)
JYP Entertainment came in last with 21 billion won (~ $21 million USD). One entertainment rep said, "These companies are establishing affiliates and more, all of which are great factors to their business, so it looks like the profit scale will continue to grow in the future. YAY with music by 2 AM, 2 PM, 15&, Baek Ah Yeon, Junho, Sunmi, JYP himself, Miss A, and 5 live. (most were singles for JYP artists)
