There would have been more BTW singles if Marry The Night hadn't tanked, as well.

Doon't know if You and I would've done it though. Moves Like Jagger and Someone Like You were huge. And Party Rock Anthem would've blocked TEOG, as well (it had a ton of video views at the time, after all)

Gosh I really wish she would've MILKED those eras DRY. Boys x3, Starstruck, So Happy I Could Die, Dance In The Dark, Monster ALL should've been singles with videos. Having so many potential hits on an album only happens once in a lifetime as BTW and ARTPOP proved

It's funny - if she actually spent those first two eras building up separate images and a specific persona, instead of one that changes every two years, the BTW era probably would have gone perfectly.

The unfortunate thing about videos these days is that they don't garner a lot of first day views. They stopped providing banners that directed traffic to videos, which resulted in weaker launches for videos like Adore You and Dark Horse. Do What U Want would have fallen to that same trap, I feel.
