I just listened to it I like the title track, Troubeaux, So Good, First Love and Booty. None of these songs is amazing though. I can also tolerate 'Actin Like That', but the rest is just...

On a more positive note, she looks stunning in the booklet and it's one of the most high quality booklets of any recent pop release

Overall I'm kind of disappointed. The only songs I really love are 'First Love' and 'Booty'. I probably won't listen to anything else. I was the biggest j.lo stan from 1999 - 2007 so I'm not being a hater or anything. I just can't get into these songs. Not really a big urban music fan and the ballads never really go anywhere.

Not everyone trying to throw shade in that Metacritic thread while they were PERCHED for the leak yesterday. ATRL is a damn mess. I even saw one Beyonce stan dragging the album in that thread yet they were in here earlier saying they liked it.
And that EW review is ********. That "critic" is a damn TV critic and she spent most of the review discussing Jennifer's personal life and actually only talked about three songs. I went the **** in on her Steve Buscemi looking ass on Twitter and she blocked me.

Booty is the only one that is single material and it has to be the next single. I love Never satisfied and So good but they'd flop hard. I can't see the single material in any other track, even though I like them all... not my favorite album of hers atm.

I was trying to be nice about it. I appreciate some urban music when its done right. Gonna Be Alright, All I Have
and I'm Real are bops! I love a lot of J.LO's older stuff like Waiting for tonight, Love don't cost a thing, play, I'm real, still, the one, step into my slayage, forever. Brave and LOVE? were really great albums but I just can't get into this.

You guys need to stop getting mad when someone doesn't share the same opinion as you.

There's a difference when in one thread, you say you'd give the album a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 and in the other, say it doesn't deserve anything above a 55 on Metacritic.
When it's actual critiscism and not people lamely trying to throw shade, then I'd accept it but it's not. People going in on the album because of ONE REVIEW is not critiscism, especially when the 3 other reviews we've seen so far have been positive.

I thought I'd address a few of the points that TV critic brought up in her review of "AKA". The whole concept of the album is that even though she's gone through a lot and has matured, deep down, she's still the "Same Girl" from the Bronx who still believes in love despite all her bad experiences with it. "I'm not the girl you thought you knew" means she's grown up and she changed for the better, no one should stay the same person for 15 years of course, she explains it all in the Same Girl lyrics ("I gotta keep on growing" but she'll still hold the same ideals and remain humble) and that "critic" would know that if she actually listened to the lyrics that she critiscized so harshly.
That critic also said the album is full of love songs
The only actual love song on the album is "Let It Be Me", "Never Satisfied" is about being needy in a relationship and wanting love so bad you're "never satisfied", there are a lot of break up tracks and the album is quite dark.
Regarding the title "Troubeaux", it's an obvious Casper reference.

As my favorite album from her is "Brave" which had only 52 on metacritic I am not giving a **** about a score that is based on one freaking review. BuT after three listens I can't help but feel disappointed, too.

I really like "Let It Be Me" which is like a passionate, positive version of "Can't Believe (This Is Me)" that could have easily been in Spanish on "Como Ama Una Mujer". I actually like her vocals on this one as they seem to show some raw emotions.

But except for that as well as the catchy "First Love" and the fresh-sounding "I Luh Ya Papi" the album is very, very, very mediocre to me. "A.K.A." and "So Good" are not bad, and "Emotions" gives me a nice "This Is Me... Then"-feel but that's about it. "Big Booty" is uninspired but could be decent if it wasn't destroyed by Pitbull once again. Songs like "Tens" have potential but they sound overproduced to me and are quite noisy.

I am going to continue listening a bit, maybe it grows on me after all. I, however, still hope the best for "First Love"

The first Jlo album I'll ever be buying! Deff her best yet imo. Some of the deluxe tracks are eh, but still getting it for Girls (if it's on the target edition). Expertease should have replaced let it be me on the standard edition, and should be a single it is a great pop tune! My fave from this era for sure! Emotions surprised me most, I didn't expect to enjoy it based off of the clip. So good is a future single I hope. And booty is cute/fun not sure I understand it's hype though.
