There's something about Scotty that makes him different from the past Idol flops. HE's gonna flop in the long run, but I think he'll do well than the recent winners (probably half of Idol's champions).
I agree that Scotty's single is terrible, but the winner's first single always sucks. It's in no way indicative of what is album is going to sound like. He will work with top-notch Nashville producers and songwriters on his album.
I finally get why Scotty was getting so many votes. I usually never fully watched his performances I usually texted but I saw them now and Jesus! I felt like he was trying to seduce my clothes of with his eyes. That was quite uncomfortable.
American Idol needs to change their voting system. Something needs to be done. All the good ones get eliminated early.
They need to do it like Dancing with the Stars. You get as many votes as there are contestants, like 12 if there are 12 left, down to minimum of 5 (you would still get 5 votes at the finale).
I don't know why people think that just being country guarantees success. Have you all ever met country fans? They are some of the must critical, discriminating fans around. I just don't see Scotty going over too well. He's talented, but something about his performance style is very gimmicky. They're not here for that.
