The Grammys aren't going to waste an Adele performance on Lionel Ritchie. All they have is a song called Hello in common.

I feel like it's been kind of obvious since the beginning that she'd perform at the Grammys and they made that exception to her contract with NBC way before the single even came out.

Agreed. Also, the Carpool Karaoke skit was on CBS, which is where the Grammys air, so it's possible that there was something in her contract with NBC that allowed her to do that as well, or something.... I don't really know if there's any connection, but it's possible.

WWWY is actually #15 overall on radio. tomorrow is callout scores, interesting to see if it's there and what score it gets!
tbh, with Hello and the album still being huge/sold so much, no promo for it outside the p/f:s around album release date and no streaming, it actually DOES do well right now, it's still slowly climbing and is stable in/just outside top 10 on Itunes. If she puts it on spotify and perform it Grammy night, it will smash, maybe not #1 but very high like top 5, and who can honestly expect better at this Point?

What if it's logistically like that one off-key TS performance with Stevie Nicks? Like Adele starts with WWWY and then Lionel Ritchie comes on and they do a Hello mashup together. Or the reverse order to begin the show, since it's called Hello and the Grammys are always a bit cheestastic
Then full piano version of WWWY at the Brits far-stage to give 2011 SLY vibes.

Yeah. I'm not really for it either, I'd rather her just do like a big band WWWY at the Grammys and then stripped down at the Brits. But I think a duet at least is definitely a possibility, especially when she did one there back in 2009

I mean at The Grammys. I don't think Adele is focused on promoting singles this era. She seems to be performing whatever she feels like doing.

True, but I guess I'm just saying that I don't think she's had like some career-long fatwa against ever singing with other people, especially at the Grammys, it's just not an very frequent occurrence. And if Grammy producers come like "we really want you to be a part of this tribute to Lionel Ritchie, please sing Hello with him" I don't see the point of saying no, especially if they're having her do another solo song as well.
