Because she's trying to prove she's not part of the old establishment that hasn't been doing a good job in Washington. Picking someone older like that would not be good for her image, she has the experience already. She needs someone who could rebrand her

Image is important particularly for younger voters and the base, but picking someone who can replace her is what the majority of voters (particularly older voters) want to see. There really aren't many people that can excite voters AND be a good fit for Hillary's veep. Not in Congress or on a gubernational level. Bob Menendez would be a terrible pick.

Like? The guy you mentioned doesn't really make sense anyway. Old candidates pick young running mates and visa versa to widen their net. That's the strategy nowadays

There is a tiny part of me that believes in the conspiracy theories about the Obamas and the Clintons hating each other Like yeah, they did that interview together but that screams Olivia Pope to me. And then when you take into account that the e-mail story was allegedly leaked by close aide to both Obamas, Valerie Jarrett... If Biden ran and Obama backed him during the primaries, that would seal the deal for me.

In Obamas entire time in the White House, he has only played golf with Bill Clinton once--the same number of times he has played golf with John Boehner. Bill and Hillary have only ever been invited over for dinner to the white house once. The Clintons also poached a lot of the top staffers from the Obama administration to run Hillary's campaign. The Obamas have refused to lend the Clintons their famed and expansive voter email list. In DC circles it's very well known that Obama would probably rather have anyone be President than the Clintons in power again.

The only thing progressive about Hillary is the amount of money she takes from wall street and corporations... It progressively increases.

Obama does not want her in the WH or he would not have put the FBI on her.

I don't think Obama cares about Hillary taking people for her campaign as much as you think, he isn't running again and they need jobs.

To be fair, liking money does not preclude you from being a decent human being and want to do good with the world. The Clinton Foundation has given HIV and Malaria medication to millions of people in third world countries, when Bill/Hillary could just as easily have stayed in the U.S. collecting hundreds more millions in speaking fees and setting up a nice little inheritance for Chelsea.

In the end, it's all about who will gain control of the Democratic party. By taking Obama's top lieutenants and strategists, Clinton is increasing her chances of seizing the democratic party back from the leadership of the Obamas.

Oh I thought I put that in there about the democratic party and control but I guess I didn't. I agree it is about who has control and direction of the party, Obama wants to keep it as much as he can and if she is in office he can consider his grip on the party gone.

Even worse she might make deals that roll back some of his legacy items to pass her agenda. I think that is what he fears the most.
