the thing that makes me think they're not katy is that she almost always relies on metaphors and themes in her songs, she doesn't usually just tell a story. it does kinda seem part of me esque tho
I wouldn't believe it at all if it wasn't for the account already tweeting lyrics to songs in the past. And many songs, at that. That kinda makes it reliable imo. Why start lying now? And there's only a small amount to go on, there could still be other metaphors in the full song.

Exactly. She's not stupid. She must be aware of this. She already missed her chance when Hot N Cold didn't go #1 in 2009 (and WUIV but that was never going to happen), she has to keep her momentum alive this decade. If she released a new single in August again she could just add it to the PRISMATIC setlist and keep performing it live until the album is released in October. She has a long break to film the MV before she tours South America anyway, no?
