2014 Forest Hills Drive is a story. It details his upbringing rom his mom's financial trouble, him losing his virgingity, his personal struggles, his dreams, aspirations and what he predicted his future would be like. The album concept and theme is everything that should be in an authentic rap album. no gimmicks.
That's cute, but I feel like anyone can do that. It's not really taking a risk by digging a little deeper on real world topics.
"Anaconda" was nothing more than its sample. It shouldn't have been nominated. "Bound 2" would have been the only other worthy contender, but I'm glad it lost. I'm over the Grammys giving all of the urban awards to Kanye, only for him to be unappreciative of them. I hope he continues to lose.
Reparations come from government, (the White House is in the background). Reparartions cases are also decided by the judicial system, hence, the judge.
As far as Nas albums ago, Illmatic > Stillmatic > The Lost Tapes (does nobody know about this? It's dope.) > It Was Written > Life is Good > Street's Disciple > Hip Hop is Dead
The other 2 albums are trash.
His joint album with Jr Gong is SO good. Distant relatives >>
He's basically the Hip Hop P!nk. In the end, he will outlast some of the ones people hype more than him.
I agree. He will have a long career. He has a core fan base. I've been following him from the beginning. It's amazing how great FHD is selling just off of word of mouth.

And without critics having to pimp it. He's obviously going to outlast the boys. And I am going to love it.
Why does Foxy Brown look so.......................dirty now Is she ok? All of her pics on instagram look so weird, like she thinks she's still in 1997. https://instagram.com/badgyalfox

The fact that every body wanna become SJWs all of a sudden is kinda believe it or not cliché at this point. Granted, Kendrick is one of the few who really excels at it but .. yeah. Its boring. I wanna hear him give me songs that are good critically and commercially. More Poetic Justice, Swimming Pools please. No more "i"s
Oh you talking about the critical acclaim single that gave him two Grammy awards? "i" is nothing like nobody slave music. "i" is a song that we young generation need to hear because it giving us that positive message.
As far as Nas albums:
Ilmatic
Life Is Good/It Was Written (I still say Life is Good is the album that Jay-Z tried to make with MCHG and failed)
Untitled/Distant Relatives (With Damian Marley, VERY slept on)
Stillmatic
Hip Hop is Dead
God's Son
I Am
Nastradamus/Street Disciple (Street's Disciple was too long imo)

Lost Tapes is a classic. Doo Rags>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Nas has so many classic loose tracks though.
Nicki could make a really great album, but she will always try to tack on songs that don't fit to appeal to different audiences, and gimmicky songs to get hits. That's the Pinkprints only flaw as an album, even if the songs are individually good.

He doesn't deserve that MetaCritic score but it's whatever. I'm surprised ATRL isn't stanning for it as they love to play numbers game. I'm so happy for him, though.
I bought tickets to his show on August 9. I may pay resell price for the Madison Square Garden show.

What good does a commercially successful single do for the listener tho? Especially in the rap genre

Foxy got busted for stealing $90 worth of weave, just thought I'd mention that.
