It's low debut is due to a lack of streaming not airplay. Canada doesn't have the stupid streaming rule and if I'm right CMB isn't doing well on radio there as well but still debuted at #25 on the Canadian Billboard Hot 100.
Mr.know It All debuted at #18 with 107,000 downloads and about 6million of airplay and #8 on the digital chart.
Catch My Breath debuts at #54 with 87,000 downloads, 3million of airplay and #11 on the digital chart.
If the streaming rule was non-existing CMB would've debuted in the 20-25 range just like in Canada. Getting a Top 20 and Top 10 hit on the billboard hot 100 isn't as easy anymore.
So I've made a calculation:
One Person can play CMB 360 times in 24 Hours
One Person can play CMB 2520 times in a week.
10 of us can play the song 25200 times in a week.
20 of us can play the song 50400 times in a week.
30 of us can play the song 75600 times in a week.
75,600 streams = 76 X 0.1 = 8 points
87,000 sales = 87 X 1 = 87 Points
6Million airplay = 6 X 1.5 = 9 Points
Total = 104 Points
You have to have around 240 points to hit Top 10 and +400 points to hit #1 right now.
So as you see, if we would decide to do a streaming marathon or something, it wouldn't necessary help. We should only do the streaming marathon when she's close hitting the top 10 by a few points or the #1 spot. Right now it would be a waste of time
The streaming rule is a ****ing nightmare
