I think a Chinese member leaving will be beneficial to EXO continued career in Korea. I'm not saying him leaving is beneficial, but the fact that it's a Chinese member will make the effects less impactful. Their popularity and support in China might be impacted, but their public support in Korea most likely won't change. If anything SM might utlize this opportunity to push EXO in Japan and let Chinese fans just cool off a bit. I'm not here for some Kris fans to show up at EXO events and do stupid things.
Imo, for the sake of the group they should continue to promote heavily in Korea and begin to promote in Japan when their Korean promotions end.
