I hope she actually went Country with her vocals though. That's the only thing I'm worried about. The MKIA remix was nice because the production was poppy Country, but her vocals were still Pop. There was no twang or anything.

I'm most worried about PLU. I hope that whoever it is doesn't decide to be a baller and put his own mark on it just to take away from the dance feel. I'm getting worried that her rendition is no longer dance but pop/rock.

Eh, the demo IS a little rocky in a lot of ways. I'm sure people will still classify Kelly's PLU as pop/rock just like a lot of people consider Stronger pop/rock.

Know what I just thought of? I am now getting nervous about the AMA's. What if Kelly doesn't perform? I think it's highly likely she will, but let's just say she doesn't even really do a promo circuit. Under her contract with RCA she is obligated to promote each of her studio albums. But since her GH doesn't count as a studio album, there may not be a clause in there that obligates her to do standard promotion for it. What if Kelly decides to be lazy and just doesn't bother? Or just does one performance on a talk show or something?

THEN I would worry

Taking a guess.... It might be Dan Huff? Last month a friend of his son tweeted that Kelly was at their house. Dan Huff produced MKIA (country version).

Here's the tweet. Elliott is Dan's son.

Eh, I don't really want a twangy Kelly. I love her Southern accent when she speaks, but I don't want it when she sings.

Kelly put a nice twang on her holiday song with Blake so I'm sure she will add one with this one too. Can't wait to hear it.

Interesting. Thanks!! Perhaps she was referring to Kelly being at his house from a while back when MKIA was done though? I wouldn't mind Dan Huff being the producer though! He did a nice job with MKIA and if I'm not mistaken is a pretty big Country producer, right?

And to be fair, even if it didn't smash it could've done better than DS

YCW is melodically unstable and is such a blemish on Kelly's discography. DS is miles better than that mess. But let's all agree that IFY would have been the perfect summer single. It's the perfect song for opening up your moon roof and laughing out loud with the windows down while screaming the song.

No. I don't see YCW going even Gold. DS was downloaded far more than YCW was upon album release and it fared better than every other song on the album sans Stronger. There were simply no more obvious smashes on Stronger. IFY might have performed better than DS, but it's impossible to know.

I love when the base battles over which song should have been the summer jam.

I cant believe I'm saying this, but I will admit that radio would have eaten up IFY. I personally dont like it much, but I would have loved LMD as the summer single. Or even You Love me, with retro 90s-looking Kelly being heartbroken on the beach

Yep, I think IFY would've done well, it's way more of summer single than DS (even though I love DS). Much more radio friendly
