I'm so over all this talk of the crime bill. I've actually seen people say "So many black people are in jail because of Hillary Clinton!" and it's kinda like... no, people are in jail because they commit crimes. And his Africa thing wasn't bad in my opinion because he REALLY does care about Africa. A good portion of the work he does with The Clinton Foundation is focused on helping the African people in several different areas. I'm sure if a 70 year old white man sees "black lives matter", he would assume African ones are included.
Hillary Clinton didn't even vote for the bill either. How people come to the conclusion that this is her fault is beyond me

She did advocate for the bill and that's as good as a vote....the bill was well intended but it had some inadvertent consequences that hurt the AA community. Bernie also voted for the bill so no one's hands are clean in this whole thing

Because people don't do their own research. They don't check to see who actually wrote or voted for bills. They just see a viral video and are all of a sudden experts on mass incarceration.

This is a ****** excuse.
She didn't vote for it, end of. There were many African American influentials who pushed and advocated for it too.
The Crime Bill is the most annoying "controversy" of this election. It makes no sense for Bernie supporters to use her speech in support of it as a negative of her character and to distinguish her from Bernie (who actually voted for the bill). It was a fair bill with good intentions. Were there flaws? Of course, but screaming about legislation 20 years ago rather than talking about ways to correct it is unproductive and childish.
Oh, HeyMr.DJ wanted me to let y'all know that he was banned from this thread for thirty days. And that he's here in spirit.
