The Pillars of Eternity situation was handled as it should have been. I don't get how it's ruining gaming, if that's what you were referring to with your comment.
Basically, the game was backed by Kickstarter, and funders were allowed to have their name and a personal message put in the game. One of them put in a transphobic poem, and social media (rightly) got upset. Obsidian then issued a patch that removed it from the game, and apologized.
I wouldn't be surprised if Skyrim becomes the definitive game of our generation, like Ocarina of Time defined the 90's.
Like, it's sold over 20 million units (). When you have that many people have one game as their first real RPG, they expect those qualities to be present in all games. Skyrim's not without flaws, obviously, but it was so ambitious and large in scale when it was released. It's really not a stretch to say that Skyrim has changed the landscape of western RPGs.
Almost every big RPG developed after Skyrim has been influenced by it or compared to it. Dragon Age: Inquisition owes a lot to Skyrim, and The Witcher 3 is directly appealing to the Skyrim audience in promotional material. Skyrim has flaws, and it can be overrated at times, but it's done a lot for RPGs and video games in general.
/end Skyrim stan mode
I'm kind of warn out of my Vanilla skyrim on the PS3 I need to purchase the add on packs and see what more there is to offer. I agree with everything you've said. I absolutely love the game, and it feels SO great to play it during the winter time. It's just like the perfect atmosphere. Every winter I have like a Skyrim binge. I hope that the next game in the series is even better.
I already posted this to TGT but playing past the main storyline and the expansions is essentially impossible. The game is laggy beyond belief and there is no way to fix this. This is because of how the PS3 runs versus the 360 and PC - the game saves and cache keep building up and bloat the system. This happens with all of Bethesda games minus Oblivion. Just a warning.

It was handled as I think it should have been.
This is what GamerGaters are getting upset about? And they wonder why everyone thinks they're a joke
