It's the start of single and album promo. It'll get her "noticed" by the mainstream and will lead to more opportunities on primetime and what have you, and get general audiences interested in the song, album and tour.

Not only that but no one really watches the MTV Movie awards anymore. The ratings have consistently dropped each year for the past 3 years. It only got 3.2 million last year.

Although the numbers aren't the best, it does skew pretty young which is the iTunes demographic. It got a 1.8 rating in the 12-34 demo last year which isn't bad.

I really don't get why you guys keep complaining about Selena iTunes position.

LYLALS & Naturally were rarely in the top 20 and when they were, it was because it was discounted. Yet, they both went platinum/ 2x platinum. People don't rush to buy Selena singles like the other pop stars.

Streaming will help also, Selena's videos slay YouTube The C&GI audio video has 5 million views already. For comparison purposes Avril's lyric video has less than 1.5 million. Although to be honest that just makes it more confusing how Avril got so high on iTunes and Selena didn't
