Not a big deal to you because you're not on the receiving end.
I don't think Katy deserves this little backlash she's getting (not surprised since the public is so fickle
), but excusing insensitivity to a group of people isn't very logical or fair. Gays are quick to holler insensitivity or homophobia in similar cases, so I don't see why people of cultures shouldn't feel a certain way when they are misrepresented by an outside person or group.
