Honestly, I think it's a metaphor. Gaga has talked about "birthing her music" many times before. I think after Def Jam dropped her, it felt like she had an abortion - almost like she had her music ripped right out of her, if that makes sense.

I thought that could be true, but I remember her saying a few times that she did go to the hospital for something and that part was something that really happened. That metaphor definitely makes sense though.
Someone said that the ice cream truck part of You and I was supposed to symbolize her ~innocence being taken away~ because she was raped at some point, also why she said she didn't enjoy sex for years….no idea if its true. Regardless, You and I remains Gaga her most confusing/nonsensical video IMO.
Ok I couldn't put my finger on it but I think I've found what makes her look different from how she used to….her lips/mouth. They're bigger now…I thought those injections were temporary
I think they're back to normal now...even before the injections she was able to make it look like she had fuller lips
see how they look big here but i don't think she had injections then...unless she's been getting them throughout her career

She wasn't raped tho. She just did sexual favors and gave into the demands of her superiors in her early years in the industry. That's why she says she didn't enjoy sex for a period of time - she was doing because she thought she had to.
I have to say after the Born This Way video I kind of gave up trying to understand the meaning of her videos, which is why I don't use Marry the Night video.
Also I still don't understand who let her release a video like BTW tbh. It's cool I suppose but sooooo unnecessary. I could understand a video like that for bloody mary tho
