Hey everyone! So as you noticed, I didn't update during the new Years holidays. I simply just enjoyed these two days without having to worry about updating this. I came up with a new schedule during these two days. So here is how the rest of this best of will go:

January 15th: Half-Decade Top 10 tv shows. + Top 10 hotties
January 16th: Half-Decade Moments of my Life and finale of the Best of 2014
I'm sure I'm one of many people that knows this song but hasn't seen the movie. Well, the piano really draws you in and Idina takes it to epic levels. This song definitely deserved its Oscar.
Only appearance by Idina Menzel
49. The Summer Set - Boomerang
This is one of 5 songs from my Top 20 of 2013 that still made the Top 50 in 2014. However, you might remember I got banned last year, so this really is my first time writing about these songs. Boomerang included. Anyways, sometime in 2013, this song was 69c on iTunes, so I bought it and I really got hooked to it. It debuted on my countdown in October of 2013 and retired in March of 2014. This song got me into The Summer Set for real, or at least their Legendary album. The song is pop rock/dancepop hybrid perfection that really gets stuck in your head. Perfect for summer, with a cute music video and I Just wish it could have been successful.
Second of three appearances of The Summer Set
48. Joelle - Save Me
If you watched The X Factor Australia in 2013, you might remember this girl being on Redfoo's team, Joelle. Otherwise known as the girl that Redfoo hated at the beginning and then completely screwed her over at the live shows. This song proves just how wronged she was by Redfoo on the show, because this is exactly the type of the song she should be doing. I wish her the best.
Only appearance by Joelle!
47. Little Mix - Salute
This song is very fierce and the beat is very intense and very different from most Little Mix songs. But the female empowerment can be kind of awkward for a guy to listen to. I just can't really relate. It's a good song though.
Second of three appearances by Little Mix
46. Martin Garrix & Jay Hardway - Wizard
The final instrumental song of the countdown bows out at #46. Easiest said, this song has the sickest beat out of all of them.
Final appearance of Martin Garrix. Only appearance by Jay Hardway
45. Jacquie Lee - Broken Ones
Selena Gomez's twin makes her appearance on the countdown. I agree with josh_923 when saying that this is one of the best debut singles from a winner of The Voice. Wasting All These Tears still takes the cake though. It's just very inspirational.
Only appearance by Jacquie Lee
44. Iggy Azalea f. MO - Beg For It
Out of the three Iggy songs left, this song obviously had to get the axe first. The beat reminds me of Black Widow and the chorus reminds me of Fancy. It's obviously weaker but it still somewhat fierce.
Fourth of six appearances by Iggy Azalea. Only appearance by MO
43. Katy Perry - This Moment
The lyric video above is why this song charted on the countdown. This song is so true and I really took its advice late in the year when I said yes to my boyfriend (or soon to be ex-boyfriend?) Scott out. The song simply just makes you feel good regardless.
Fourth of five appearances by Katy Perry
42. Little Mix - Towers
Little Mix bows out at #42 this year with my favorite song from this era. It's just Little Mix's ballads at their best.
Final appearance by Little Mix
41. Hedley - Anything
This song got me into Hedley. I liked Perfect before hearing this, but this song got me into their crazy nature and fun nature. The music video really helped as well. I mean, you can't go wrong with Jacob's nude ass . It's an eff the haters song that's for sure.
FInal appearance of Hedley----------------------------
There weren't enough albums out this year to actually get me interested to do a huge list, so I'm keeping it simple.
3. The Veronicas - The Veronicas
Top Tracks:
1. You Ruin Me
2. Born Bob Dylan
3. More Like Me
4. Line of Fire
5. Did You Miss Me (I'm a Veronica)
I was so happy to see these two back and they really brought it this time around. The album reminds me of mixed elements of the pop rock from their debut and the electropop from their second one, with some new elements put into this record.
2. Calvin Harris - Motion
Top Tracks:
1. Pray To God (feat. HAIM)
2. Faith
3. Under Control (feat. Hurts)
4. Summer
5. Dollar Signs (feat. Tinashe)
Calvin's second mainstream US album was a lot more enjoyable than 18 months for me. The last era really let get the chance to collab with some great artists. It was nice to see HAIM, John Newman, Tinashe and others show some versatility. The instrumental tracks were great too. Overall, a very solid album.
1. Taylor Swift - 1989
Top Tracks:
1. Style
2. I Wish You Would
3. This Love
4. Clean
5. All You Had To Do Was Stay
Taylor's transition to a full on pop record has honestly been in the making ever since Fearless. She didn't rush into it and I think that's why 1989 has been so huge. Most of her listeners are mainly pop listeners to begin with, and she's always had a hint of pop in her albums. But she let the general public warm up to her over the years and slowly go more pop with each era. The Red era was the perfect test to see if we were ready for a full pop record. I'm happy to say we were right, because she literally feels like she's in her natural element and having genuine fun while doing it. She really just let herself be free this era. And that's why so many people have been open-minded to her this era. Taylor really delivered on this album because every song is a bop or gem in some way or form, even if some tracks are weak, they're still boppable every once in awhile.
HONORABLE MENTION
Cher Lloyd - Sorry I'm Late
Top Tracks:
1. Human
2. Sweet Despair
3. Alone With Me
4. Bind Your Love
5. Just Be Mine
This album of Cher's really made me like her more. She showed some growth. Her songs are a little more adult, both sexually and maturely. Her pop songs were also catchier and better production. She really defined her persona in this era, so it's a shame it flopped.
