And I don't see KH3 coming next year. Next year we will have FFXV as the main release by S-E and KH2.8 for the KH fans. KH3 will come in 2017 as their main release.

2017?! Ugh that's so disappointing - though it does make sense. Least I'll have Fallout to tide me over for a while.
Anyway I'm so excited for 2.8 - I'm confused though, is it three playable games or are some just more of a cinematic thing like the ones in 1.5 etc?

DDD is playable for sure, the BBS0.2 will prob be really short and the prelude game will not be that long so...

DDDHD is a remaster of the 3DS game with the same engine and gameplay mechanics as before. It is playable.
BBS0.2 is a new game (probably not a full fledged game, think about it as a ~3 hour game, as of now) made entirely with KH3's engine. It is playable.
Chi: Back Cover is a cinematic movie that serves closure for Chi: Unchained (the iOS/Android game). It is not playable.

BBS 0.2 is gonna tell us what happened to Aqua during her time in the realm of darkness to her meeting Ansem the Wise. That's going to tie into KH3 with Sora or Riku saving those two and getting them out of the Realm of Darkness.
Just my thoughts on what is gonna happen.

Does anybody else HATE Chain of Memories? I feel like it gets a lot of hate and I can kinda see why.
I played it a very long time ago when it was originally on GBA or whatever - right now I'm only just getting around to playing it on my PS3 on 1.5 and i'm really not enjoying it at all, but I'm feeling the need to stick with it just so I can enjoy the story (currently playing everything again in order to completely refresh my memory before the new games come out).
But yeah - anyone else feel the same way? Really tempted to just move on to the next one, I just can't get to grips with the card mechanics etc :/

I still don't understand why they didn't just group all the games together for a new compilation on the PS4.

So they can make a Kingdom Hearts Saga w/ all the games like a month or two before KH3 comes out

I guess I'll just wait until then. I held off on buying 2.5 because I assumed they would release a full collection on PS4 at some point.

I also dislike it. The story is just a KH1 rehash with different perspective. The card mechanics is easily abused.
I recommend sticking with it because once you get to Riku part it will feel like a whole different game. That's the only reason I tolerate CoM existence.

I think BBS0.2 will end with the first scene we saw from KH3, the one that has Sora finding Aqua's keyblade. It will likely end in a cliffhanger, and I expect them to introduce us to one of the unrevealed Xehanorts there as well.

Because it's not profitable and logical to release a 6 games/3 movies pack at a $60 price. You would also need various discs for the compilation. And the PS3 compilations still need to be sold. I don't see Konami releasing a MGS all-games compilation on PS4, I don't see Atlus releasing a Persona all-games compilation now that Persona 5 is releasing, I also don't see Ubisoft rereleasing all the Assassin's Creed games on the new gen either. I don't know why people expect S-E to do it when they say that they if the fans wanted to play all the games together in anticipation to KH3, they should have bought a PS3. But if you all want to keep delaying KH3 asking for more compilations, well, then don't complain if the game takes a while.

They aren't delaying KH3 for the complications. Large efforts do NOT goes into these remixes. KH1.5 was only worked on by 2 dudes. If KH3 is delayed it will be because of whatever KH3 team did.

There are more to do with releases than development issues. Yeah, KH1.5 code work might have been done just by two people, but there are more resources being spent on there than just code work. Anyone who thinks the compilation was released with only two dudes working on it is just wrong. Anyway, it's just not viable to release 2.8, and then 1.5 and 2.5 just before 3 arrives, it creates brand fatigue and confusion.
And I didn't say they have been delaying 3 because of the compilations, I'm saying that in this case, more compilations will delay KH3's release because it's actually in development this time.

Well obviously there's management, supervisors and things being checked over and reviewed but considering that it still doesn't take away from the full team much.
And how would more compilations delay the game if there isn't anything to be delay

Because if you scheduled KH3 to be released, for example, early 2017, let's say March, and you introduce more products to be released before KH3, you have to rework the entire release calendar. Let's say that you want to release an hypothetical KH2.9 PS4 compilation. KH2.8 seems to be targeted mid-2016, likely June/September. You don't release games in summer period, so now you have to release 2.9 in October, November or December. But FFXV is releasing in October/November. And the public are still playing the 2.8 games, and the same potential public just bought FFXV, who's going to buy 2.9 in December? Nope, you have to release it 2017 now. And now you have to delay KH3 to Q3/Q4 because of it. There you have your delay.

I know they want to make a profit but I wish they would keep the big games on one console. I don't want to buy a PS3 to play BBS and then a PS4 to play DDD.
