It depends what generation your talking to. Janet's career was so huge in the 80's/90's/early 2000's. Like Madonna, she has set a lot of standards that many modern artists look up to and inspire to be. They are both legends, but I think Janet has been around longer so she probably deserves the title of being a LEGEND.

I don't know why people still make Janet vs Bey comparisons. Aside from some choreography here and there (and I'm really only thinking of the Ring the Alarm routine) Janet's influence on Bey is pretty much non-existent.

Anyway, Bey was more iconic in the 00s, Janet was more iconic in the 80s-90s. There, problem solved.
