Kanye West is probably one of the hotest people you could get on a remix. He's , sans Jay and maybe Drake, is the most successful rapper out right now. His name sales.

Snoop may be less relevant, but the guy has been in the game for over 15 years. He's cooling it and I honestly think he's still releasing music for his own enjoyment yet he still can chart in the Billboard Hot 100 and just had a song in the top 10 in the last few years. Sexual Eruption anyone? He has a very dedicated fanbase. Let's not even.

Snoop, Kanye, and Missy are 3 of the most respected people in the industry. You could even go as far as to say they slightly tarnished their image jumping on Katy's tracks. You bitches better be humble.

The charts/billboard is completely separate from your own thoughts about the song. If you like the song, like it, if you don't like it, don't like it. Don't dislike it just because a remix was created for the song and both were discounted on Itunes.

I still like it, but I can't enjoy it like I used to knowing it could be massacred so easily by the addition of a rapper.

The same happened with S&M. I could never enjoy it like I used to after I heard the remix. It doesn't just have to do with how it affects the charts. It affects the quality of the song as a whole for me, to hear the original be so downgraded in another version.

Why are people equating good marketing strategy (after all, it worked didn't it?) to "desperation?" Let Katy have her accomplishment and don't be so vile about it.

Also, stop comparing her to MJ because we all know how ridiculous that is. She's NOT the new MJ, she's not as legendary as MJ, but she's a modern day pop radio phenom and should be commended for that.

I hate how some of you act like you like Katy, then when it comes to this you act like she's the scum of the earth. Get over it. This is 2011. The industry isn't the same as it was when MJ set the record.

Well, yeah. I don't think he propelled JD to #1 either. But I think what the other Katy stans were trying to say is that saying that Snoop or Kanye got CG and ET to #1 is like saying Colby got JD to #1.
