two match-ups to decide this round, but the stakes were still
higher than ever as voters picked who would advance for a chance at the title. And with
four popular contenders left in the tournament -- each with a
passionate fan base intent on keeping their chances alive -- voting was
extremely tense. On one half of the draw,
#2 Britney Spears earned a surprisingly easy victory over #3 Adam Levine, finally
ending all hope of a male being crowned Hollywood's Ultimate Hottie. But the diva battle between top seeds #1 Katy Perry and
#1 Beyonce was another story entirely: though trailing for most of the balloting period, Beyonce
pulled ahead at the last moment by a single vote, earning her spot in the finale.
