A woman who didn't release any music nearly in the last 2 years and was on a media blackout, giving no interviews, tweeting once in a blue moon ranked in the top 3 in TV/Radio and Press. Let alone the fact that she pocketed 80 million dollars. While others put out 1234 singles 2123 albums and appear on almost every major TV show, Gaga managed to outshine them all through her blackout. The irony.  A true legend.

She makes money yearly from House Of Dereon and I doubt L'Oreal was just a X year contract where she was paid everything upfront and never gets anything yearly from them either . Midnight Heat was released July 2012 and this list is from June12-June13.
Executive producers don't get royalties.
She had 31 dates + 5 summer festival last year (36dates)
Beyonce has 35dates in Europe for Mrs.Carter World Tour.
Anyway they both banks and are slaying the industry.

Madonna reaching to the top 5 just proves that she's still powerful despite "being flopped on both albums chart and singles chart" like what Roger Friedman lied about The Queen. I can see the Roger was fuming because he had to type The Queen name in the top 5.

It's crazy how Beyonce stans keep saying Bey did nothing and made all this money, just because she didn't release an album or singles. News flash, artist don't make that much money from albums these days. Bey literally did everything else. Revel, The European leg of the MCWT, her multiple endorsements including a $50 million deal with Pepsi and the H&M deal, Super Bowl, the Inauguration, her TV special, her tumblr, the movie Epic, etc, etc, etc. Y'all acting like she took the year off and literally kept quiet.
Same thing goes for Gaga's stans, Gaga's hip has not been broken all year. She still obviously had massive earnings from her world tour, her perfume that did really well, and her other endorsements.
Congrats to both of them for slaying, but let's not act brand new ladies.

as for Rihanna, her earnings are good considering she didn't do that much in the past year. Summer festivals, Vita Coco, Unapologetic, US leg of the DWT, her perfume, and social media kept her in the top 15.
It'll be interesting to see how much she rakes in next year with the remaining dates for the DWT, her revenue from the deal with MAC, her TV show, Budweiser, River Island, her upcoming fragrance for male & females, and all the other stuff she has brewing.
Still surprised that P!nk, Nicki Minaj, and Mariah didnt make the list. I also figured Bieber would've grossed more with his tour doing so well, his acoustic album, all of his endorsements + business ventures, and everything else he's done. His gross was impressive, though. Just expected more.

Of course Beyonce didn't do nothing, she is very hard working. Maybe some of the people who say she has a bad work ethic because she hasn't released her album yet should read this post. She has been a BUSY, hardworking woman.
However a lot of the things you've named are not money-making efforts. They may raise her brand but they don't give her direct money. For example, the Super Bowl does not pay you to perform, they simply pay for the performance costs. I'm sure the Inauguration is the same way. Tumblr also doesn't make her money.
And it's a testament to her star-power that she could be successful in all these other facets without even having new music.

Gaga didn't have any endorsements in 2012. 2012 was literally her off year, which she stated in the beginning. She had the BTWB, FAME, Vogue, and the BTW Fundation, which actually cost money.

Yeah, but the attention you get from something as big as the SB or inauguration helps a lot with this list. That's the point.

Maybe so, but from the opening statement of, " It's crazy how Beyonce stans keep saying Bey did nothing and made all this money" and then going on to list the things she did it seems like the point was about how she made the money. Perhaps that wasn't the intention though. Regardless, Beyonce is where she's at (behind NO ONE else but Oprah, Gaga and Speilberg) no matter how we contextualize it.
