I don't even understand how this thread got so messy so quick.
In all honesty, I believe that $20 a month is actually an outrageous amount to ask for a month simply because we are already not used to paying it, and starting now, out of the blue just seems so unnecessary
And truth be told, all this jumbo about looseless sound may be brilliant but let's be honest, nobody really cares.
However, I think at some point, you have to actually just get to that point where you realize that your artistes are putting in A LOT of work into this music...paying engineers, studio time, all of that jumbo.
I'm not even talking big names like Jay or Bey, I'm talking like your average artiste that finally is able to pull some funds together to make a CD (ala many indie artistes).
The fact that we feel that we have the RIGHT to just illegally download and listen to that music is NOT COOL, and believe me, it's wrong...but society has reached that point where that is now the norm.
What Tidal is tryna do with this, I think...is just give artistes especially an avenue where they can actually receive money for their work...which I personally think is a good thing.
