I just used Lorde as an example. I think even if Lorde hadn't come, Adele's impact in the industry would be seen. As I said, Stay by Rihanna is very Adele. Sam Bailey (recent X-Factor winner) was not only styled to look like her but also shares a lot of similarities to Adele in musical style etc and I'm sure there are more examples I can't think of. While she maybe didn't inspire Lorde or Lana directly, the fact that Adele's era was undoubtedly the most successful means that it was her leading the pack of non-dancepop-pop, both chronologically and based on public and critical vote.
I guess your argument here is similar to me arguing that Britney spearheading (pun intended) the dub step movement wasn't really a big impact, although I think in this case Adele lead a new way of thinking about pop music whereas Britney lead a short lived trend.
Basically I don't think she's the most impactful but definitely not the least.
