Chart Notes: A couple things have changed here. One thing that has not changed is Drake's mixtape, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, still sits atop my album chart. But, this week has been his weakest lead yet. He fended off Ricky Martin last week, and this week it's Kelly Clarkson's Piece By Piece. Two of my favorites also re-enter the album chart: Ghostface Killah debuts with his most recent album, 36 Seasons, and Lady Gaga with ARTPOP. Ricky Martin holds at number 5, mostly fueled by his strong single performance.
This week, I discontinued my artist chart (I didn't like it much) and re-instated my recurrent chart. I've missed it! and I often go back to older songs just as much as newer ones. That chart also is a lot more dynamic and fun and includes a lot more off the beaten paths artists so why not?
As far as the singles go, I downloaded some old stuff back to my computer that hasn't been on for awhile. So, have been listening to it. That is why both Ciara and Tim McGraw re-enter both song charts at number 1! Also, I went on a This Kiss binge so that marks Carly's first ever debut here.
1,3,4,6,7,8.
I've been loving No Type this week as well.
Your taste is so great! I love that you love Dope. It may be my favorite thing on ARTPOP.
And of course anyone that likes Drake

Take Your Time and Sucker
Funny enough, no not because of the video. I just redownloaded the song from the cloud and got hooked. Plus, I've been having a week where it is pretty much the best thing to listen to
The video may be the reason for I Bet staying on Top this week though.

Top 5 Albums
5) Ghostface Killah - 36 Seasons (Plays: 28 Full Album Plays: 2)
4) Taylor Swift - 1989 (Plays: 40 Full Album Plays: 2)
3) One Direction - Four - 36 Seasons (Plays: 46 Full Album Plays: 3)

1) Punch Brothers - The Phosphorescent Blues (Plays: 59 Full Album Plays: 5)
Chart Notes: If You're Reading This It's Too Late. Drake has finally been dethroned from the top of the album chart (the most competitive chart and the chart that best reflects what is currently going on for me musically). It was a close race to the top; Drake raked in more total plays from his mixtape, while the Punch Brothers got more total complete play-throughs of the album (5). I gave the edge to the album with the most play-throughs. It's a great album too! Very musically interesting and progressive. If you're looking to listen to bluegrass, I highly recommend it. I also finally got around to listening to One Direction's album, despite putting it off for months (seriously, it's just been collecting dust in the cloud) and I really like it. Ironically, Taylor Swift re-enters the album chart, mostly due to the strength of Bad Blood, which debuts on the song chart.
Speaking of the song chart, Ciara stays atop the chart once more. Mostly due to the video. Had the video not gotten some streams from me,
Taylor likely would have reached the top. (Bad Blood, I Bet, Barrier Hammer, Little Toy Guns, Street Spirit (Fade Out) can you tell that I've had an annoying week or two?).
The recurrent chart is potentially more interesting than the other ones. One of my main favorite artists, Radiohead, makes their first appearance on this chart. (If they release an album, expect a domination similar to Drake's). I've been really feeling The Bends recently, so that may debut soon. In addition to Radiohead, Luke Bryan charts two songs. Most notably, Roller Coaster becomes the first song in the history of the chart to chart on both my main top 10 and recurrents. In other words, my chart is now old and it's the first song that has completed a chart run, gone recurrent, and gained enough traction to rechart as a recurrent. I got back into it as a result of my musical chairs game where it made 5th place. That's My Kind Of Night, my favorite Luke song, also reenters after I talked with Celebrate about the song, realized it had been too long since I had a That's My Kind of Marathon and had to get back into the song. It's so good
Most importantly and symbolically, Baroness tops the recurrent song chart with an instrumental. It's my entry for Choose The Album, Then A Song and I had a great time listening to that one again and writing haikus about it. Anyway, that shows I'm making a move toward listening to more rock music. Expect to see more of that in the near future. Thanks for checking out the charts for this week. See you all next week!
